HANDMADE IN AUSTRALIA
Warm up to a delightful cup of tea as you take leisurely sips from a work of art.
Flambé (pronounced flom-bay) is a French term used to describe the ancient Chinese high temperature crystalline glazes with a red color and multiple layers of mineral glazes.
These whimsical fire-glazed clay tumblers by Nikki Dowdell blends traditional Japanese, Korean, and Chinese production techniques, masterfully made to play with your eyes.
Color: Mixed gemstones
Wheel-thrown fine white stoneware, layered glazes, reduction fired to 1310 degrees C
These are unique one-off designs which are difficult to replicate due to the nature of the materials, therefore they will never be identical.
Microwave and oven safe
Individually designed and handcrafted by the artist
Crazing AKA crackle, this varies between clay bodies and is more common over the darker/speckled variations. The materials are fired to stoneware temperatures and so both the glaze and clay have been vitrified meaning it has reached maximum melt point for the materials to fuse and become completely watertight. The interior crazing (crackle/cracking) is completely normal, and may stain over time with use.
